The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, has sustained high-tempo air operations against terrorist elements, successfully destroying identified hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State.
According to an official signed statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the precision air interdiction mission was carried out on 24 April 2026 at about 1850 hours over Ali Sheriffti, a known terrorist enclave. He disclosed that acting on credible intelligence, NAF air assets conducted a focused surveillance sweep, during which several insurgents were observed moving along concealed tracks.
The statement noted that the targets were trailed to structures hidden under dense foliage, confirming deliberate concealment efforts by the terrorists. Following positive identification, the air component executed a precise strike, engaging the structures with onboard munitions.
The operation achieved the intended outcome, with multiple terrorist structures destroyed, further degrading the group’s operational capability and restricting their freedom of movement within the area.
The NAF emphasized that the strike underscores its sustained commitment to intelligence-led and precision-driven operations aimed at denying terrorists safe havens across the theatre.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the Service’s resolve, stating that the Nigerian Air Force will continue to pursue and dismantle terrorist networks with unwavering precision and relentless force to ensure that no enclave remains beyond reach, while intensifying operations to safeguard the nation and its citizens.
