The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has unveiled plans to strengthen grassroots political mobilisation across Katsina State’s 34 local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Kankia, who is the Director-General of the Tinubu/Dikko Grassroots Mobilisation Movement, disclosed the initiative during a strategic meeting with political stakeholders, party officials and representatives from the state’s local government areas in Katsina.
The meeting focused on building a coordinated mobilisation network, strengthening political structures and improving collaboration among the movement’s state and local government leadership in preparation for the 2027 electoral cycle.
Kankia outlined the movement’s objectives and emphasised the need for an organised structure capable of extending its activities to grassroots communities across the state.
He said effective coordination among political leaders and stakeholders would be essential to implementing the movement’s mobilisation plans and expanding its engagement at the local government level.
The initiative is designed to improve cooperation among members, harmonise activities across the state and establish a more structured approach to grassroots political engagement in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the movement’s State Chairman, Dr Kabir Abdullahi Yantumaki, called for unity and stronger cooperation among members, urging leaders at all levels to work collectively towards achieving the organisation’s objectives.
Yantumaki stressed that effective communication and coordination between the leadership and members would be crucial to building a sustainable mobilisation network and ensuring the smooth implementation of activities across the state.
He added that greater collaboration among stakeholders would strengthen the movement’s organisational capacity and improve its engagement with grassroots supporters.
Other participants at the meeting included Hon. Adamu Mato Zango, a former commissioner and former chairman of Zango Local Government Area, and Hon. Nura Katsayal, Special Adviser on Basic Education.
The APC Director of Administration in Katsina State, alongside other party leaders and representatives from the state’s 34 local government areas, also attended the meeting.
Participants discussed organisational priorities and approaches to strengthening political engagement and coordination between the movement’s state leadership and grassroots structures.
The meeting ended with a commitment to unity, teamwork and coordinated mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
The movement’s next challenge will be to translate the plans discussed at the meeting into an operational grassroots network across Katsina State’s 34 local government areas.
