The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has extended warm Eid el-Kabir greetings to Muslims across Nigeria, describing the sacred festival as a powerful symbol of faith, sacrifice, obedience, love, and unwavering devotion to Almighty Allah.
According to an official signed statement by Special Adviser to the APC National Chairman on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Professor Yilwatda used the occasion to call on Nigerians to support the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing the need for collective responsibility in advancing national development.
The APC National Chairman noted that Eid el-Kabir remains one of Islam’s most profound celebrations, reflecting the virtues of selflessness, compassion, tolerance, and total submission to the will of God, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
He stated that the lessons of the festival resonate strongly with Nigeria’s current realities, adding that sacrifice, patience, and perseverance are essential to building a stronger, more united, and prosperous nation.
Professor Yilwatda further urged the Muslim Ummah and Nigerians at large to uphold peaceful coexistence and national harmony beyond ethnic, religious, and political differences.
He said the Sallah celebration should inspire spiritual reflection while reinforcing the bonds of love, brotherhood, and mutual understanding among citizens, as well as strengthening public support for policies aimed at national renewal and sustainable development.
The APC chairman also appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting the administration of President Tinubu and its ongoing reforms targeted at repositioning the country for sustainable economic growth, improved infrastructure, enhanced national security, job creation, and long-term prosperity.
According to him, although the reforms may demand patience and shared sacrifice, they remain necessary steps toward restoring economic stability, strengthening institutions, and securing a brighter future for generations yet unborn.
Professor Yilwatda expressed confidence that under President Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria would emerge stronger, more resilient, and economically competitive among the comity of nations.
He also called on Nigerians to use the Eid celebration to offer prayers for the peace, unity, security, and progress of the country, as well as for wisdom and divine guidance for leaders at all levels.
The APC National Chairman prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the sacrifices, supplications, and acts of worship of Muslim faithful and grants every family peace, joy, good health, and abundant blessings during and after the celebration.
He wished Muslims across Nigeria and beyond a peaceful, prosperous, and memorable Eid el-Kabir celebration.
