The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has distanced itself from a viral video circulating online, describing it as malicious, misleading, and entirely fabricated.

According to an official signed statement by J. Okor Odey, the Commission clarified that the images, names, and content featured in the video are false and, in some instances, generated using artificial intelligence, with the intent to deceive members of the public.

The ICPC stated unequivocally that it has not issued any report or statement supporting the claims made in the video, including the alleged involvement of any individual or judicial officer in a purported ₦50 billion bribery case.

The Commission further emphasized that it is not investigating any individual, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, group of lawyers, or judicial officer in connection with the claims, noting that no such case, transaction, or investigation exists within its records.

Reaffirming its mandate, the ICPC stressed its commitment to conducting credible, evidence-based investigations strictly in accordance with the law.

The anti-corruption agency also issued a strong warning to individuals or groups responsible for creating and disseminating the false content, urging them to desist immediately or face legal consequences.

It added that it is prepared to deploy the full weight of the law against those found culpable, while advising members of the public to rely solely on official ICPC communication channels for verified information.
