The Nigerian Air Force has carried out a precision air strike that eliminated several terrorists hiding in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest, as part of sustained military operations in the North-East.

According to an official signed statement by Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was executed on April 19, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, following credible intelligence supported by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) confirming the presence of terrorist elements within fortified structures and bunkers.

The statement noted that NAF air assets engaged the identified targets with precision-guided munitions, destroying the structures, neutralising multiple fighters, and dismantling key logistics facilities. Subsequent Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the success of the strike.

The Air Force explained that the sustained tempo of air operations across the theatre continues to degrade terrorist networks, leaving insurgents increasingly exposed and forcing them into reactive and disorganised actions.

Reaffirming the Service’s commitment, the Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, stated that the Nigerian Air Force would maintain relentless, intelligence-driven air operations until terrorist elements are completely neutralised.

He emphasised that the NAF remains committed to protecting its personnel, safeguarding national security, and ensuring the safety of citizens, while continuing precision engagements in strict adherence to rules of engagement and minimising civilian harm.
