The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a change in the commencement date of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course for prospective corps members deployed to Enugu State and Osun State.

According to the scheme, the orientation exercise for the two states will now begin on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and conclude on Monday, May 18, 2026. The adjustment places the commencement one week after the exercise begins in the remaining 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

This was disclosed in an official statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the NYSC, Caroline Embu.

She explained that the slight shift in the schedule became necessary due to ongoing extensive renovation work at the orientation camps in both states being carried out by their respective state governments.

Embu noted that the improvement works at the camps prompted the NYSC management to adjust the commencement date to ensure that facilities are fully ready before the arrival of corps members.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Orientation Exercise for all other states of the federation and the FCT is scheduled to hold from Wednesday, April 22, 2026 to Tuesday, May 12, 2026,” the statement said.

The NYSC urged prospective corps members affected by the adjustment to take note of the revised dates and comply accordingly when preparing for the orientation programme.

The scheme also wished all prospective corps members safe journeys to their respective states of deployment as they prepare to commence the mandatory national service.
