The National Leader of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), Henry Seriake Dickson, has received a delegation of party stakeholders from Kogi State as part of ongoing mobilisation efforts aimed at strengthening the party’s presence across the country.
The meeting, held on Wednesday evening, brought together political stakeholders from Kogi Central Senatorial District led by a gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. Mukhtar Salawu Audu, who was accompanied by a senatorial aspirant, Hon. Mukhtar Sani-Omolori. Also present in the delegation was the pro-tem Kogi State Party Chairman, Hon. Monday Onate.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary and Head of the NDC National Media Centre, Hon. AbdulMumin Abdulsalam.
According to Dickson, the visit provided an opportunity for discussions with the party’s national leadership, with the delegation assuring the leadership of the support of the people of Kogi Central and other parts of the state.
He said the party was encouraged by the growing interest among residents of the state who are aligning with the NDC’s ideological movement as it pursues what he described as a national rescue mission.
The NDC National Leader noted that the party’s activities in the state were progressing well, particularly in terms of the registration of new members, the establishment of party offices across the state, and the commitment demonstrated by stakeholders.
“I commend the visiting aspirants, the state party officials, as well as national officers of the party who hail from the state for their efforts, and I urge them to intensify mobilisation across Kogi,” Dickson said.
The meeting also featured interactions with a group of young and enthusiastic party members, alongside aspirants for the House of Representatives from the Okene/Ogori-Magongo and Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituencies, who joined the delegation to demonstrate support for the party’s leadership.
Dickson emphasised that the NDC remains committed to building what he described as a strong, inclusive and people-driven political movement capable of delivering meaningful change for Nigerians.
“Together, we will build a strong, inclusive, and people-driven political movement that delivers real change for all Nigerians. We thank the good people of Kogi State for their confidence and belief in the ideology of the NDC,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the visiting stakeholders, Hon. (Dr.) Hope Omeiza, a House of Representatives aspirant for the Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency, expressed appreciation to the party leader for receiving the delegation. He assured that members of the party in Kogi Central would intensify efforts to strengthen the NDC’s structure and ensure its success in future elections.
Similarly, Engr. Mukhtar Mohammed, a gubernatorial aspirant who led the combined delegation, assured the national leadership of the party that the people of Kogi State would continue to embrace the NDC.
He said the party’s leadership had shown commitment to providing the support and solidarity required to build a formidable political platform capable of addressing the aspirations of the people of the state.
