The Chairman of the Military Pensions Board, Mikail Abdulraheem, has taken steps to strengthen Nigeria’s military pension administration following a strategic engagement with the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), Omolola Oloworaran, in Abuja.

Abdulraheem, an Air Vice Marshal, paid a courtesy visit to the PENCOM headquarters in Abuja where both leaders held discussions aimed at deepening collaboration and enhancing service delivery to military retirees across the country.

According to an official statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Military Pensions Board, Aliyu Mohammed, the engagement focused on strengthening institutional cooperation and identifying practical solutions that would further improve the administration and management of military pensions in Nigeria.

During the meeting, the Military Pensions Board Chairman and the PENCOM leadership exchanged ideas and explored innovative approaches designed to modernise pension administration, improve operational efficiency and ensure that retired military personnel receive their entitlements in a timely and seamless manner.

The discussions also examined areas where closer institutional collaboration, knowledge sharing and policy alignment between both organisations could contribute to a more effective pension management framework for military retirees.

Abdulraheem emphasised the critical importance of sustained collaboration between the Military Pensions Board and key stakeholders in the pension ecosystem, stressing that such partnerships are essential to maintaining high standards in the administration of benefits for retired personnel who have served the nation.

He noted that ensuring efficient pension management remains a priority for the Board, particularly as part of broader efforts to safeguard the welfare and dignity of military pensioners.

The visit, according to the statement, forms part of the Chairman’s wider engagement with strategic stakeholders as he continues to pursue reforms aimed at strengthening institutional systems, improving administrative processes and advancing the welfare of military retirees across Nigeria.
