Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have busted a suspected terrorist network in Kaduna State, arresting a terrorist kingpin, a female ammunition courier and a suspected logistics supplier in separate operations.
According to an official statement signed by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the arrests were carried out by troops of Sector 1 on September 9, 2026, during clearance and intelligence-led operations across the state.
The statement said troops, in the early hours of the day, conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area, where they arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate.
The suspects were subsequently taken into military custody for further investigation.
In another operation, troops acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of terrorist ammunition arrested a 50-year-old female ammunition courier in Igabi Local Government Area.
The suspect was allegedly found with 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists operating in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
The suspect and recovered ammunition are currently in military custody as investigations continue.
Also on the same day, troops of Sector 1, working alongside a community vigilante group, apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
During interrogation and a search of the suspect, troops recovered four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists.
The suspect and recovered items were also taken into military custody for further investigation.
The Joint Task Force said the series of arrests demonstrated the unwavering commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantling terrorist networks, denying criminal elements freedom of action and disrupting the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across its Joint Operations Area.
The military also commended members of the public for their continued support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
