The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has directed senior officers of the Corps to intensify intelligence gathering and strengthen collaboration with other security agencies as part of efforts to address emerging security threats across the country.

According to an official signed statement by the National Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Assistant Commandant of Corps Babawale Afolabi, the directive was issued during the Corps’ quarterly strategic management meeting held in Abuja.

Delivering the keynote address, Professor Audi described the quarterly briefing as a critical platform for assessing evolving security challenges, reviewing operational strategies, and developing practical solutions to enhance the effectiveness of the Corps.

The Commandant General emphasized that timely and actionable intelligence remains one of the most effective tools in combating insecurity, stressing the need for intelligence information to be properly gathered, analyzed, and disseminated across all formations.

He noted that collaboration among security stakeholders is indispensable to safeguarding national security and maintaining stability across the country.

“Collaboration, coordination, and cooperation are absolutely essential if we are to strategically respond to the threats bedeviling Nigeria’s corporate existence,” Professor Audi stated.

The NSCDC boss charged Deputy Commandants General, Assistant Commandants General, Zonal Commanders, and State Commandants to foster stronger synergy within the Corps and deepen cooperation with sister security agencies to ensure more effective responses to security challenges.

Earlier, the Deputy Commandant General in charge of Technical Services, DCG Zakari Ibrahim Ningi, fdc, said the high-level meeting was convened at the instance of the Commandant General to critically evaluate the Corps’ operational engagements and strengthen its strategic direction.

DCG Ningi commended Professor Audi for institutionalizing the quarterly strategic meetings, noting that the initiative has continued to provide a platform for generating practical solutions to contemporary security concerns while enhancing operational efficiency across the Corps.

The meeting brought together the top management echelon of the NSCDC to review ongoing operations, assess emerging threats, and develop coordinated strategies aimed at improving national security outcomes.
