The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, psc(+), NPM, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening operational capacity and improving personnel welfare following the conclusion of the Squadron Commanders’ Training Programme at the Police Mobile Force Training College, Ende-Hills, Nasarawa State.
In an official signed statement, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, disclosed that the IGP attended the closing ceremony of the training programme on April 22, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance leadership development and operational effectiveness within the Force.
During the visit, IGP Disu inspected key training facilities, including the simulation ground and shooting range, where he also participated in tactical exercises, underscoring the importance of practical, scenario-based training in modern policing.
Addressing cadets of the Nigeria Police Academy undergoing training at the college, the police chief urged them to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to the demands of their profession. He emphasised resilience, professionalism, and respect for human rights as essential pillars that would shape their conduct and effectiveness in the field.
At the closing ceremony, the IGP commended the Squadron Commanders for successfully completing the intensive training, charging them to apply the knowledge gained to enhance leadership, operational discipline, and tactical efficiency within their various units.
He stressed the need for the Police Mobile Force to remain a disciplined and responsive tactical arm of the Force capable of addressing emerging security challenges across the country.
IGP Disu further assured that efforts would continue to improve the welfare of officers and provide adequate equipment to boost operational readiness nationwide.
