The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a series of operational successes across several states of the federation, repelling bandit attacks, foiling kidnapping attempts, arresting suspected criminals, rescuing trafficking victims, and recovering firearms, stolen vehicles, ammunition, and other exhibits in coordinated security operations conducted within the last 24 hours.

According to an official statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the operations, carried out by police personnel in collaboration with other security agencies and local stakeholders where necessary, underscore the Force’s sustained commitment to combating crime and safeguarding lives and property across the country.

In Sokoto State, joint security operatives successfully repelled a bandit attack after a fierce gun duel, recovering five magazines loaded with 40 rounds of live ammunition. Confidence-building patrols and bush-combing operations have since been intensified, while the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Sokoto has commenced investigations.

Similarly, in Katsina State, security operatives foiled a large-scale bandit attack, forcing the attackers to retreat with heavy casualties. Security presence has been reinforced in the affected communities as investigations continue.

In Plateau State, a combined team of Police and Police Mobile Force personnel repelled an attack by armed assailants, restored normalcy to the affected area, and deployed additional reinforcements, while efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

Enugu State recorded multiple breakthroughs as police operatives arrested five suspected cultists during a coordinated operation, recovering a pump-action gun and three live cartridges. In a separate development, officers recovered a locally fabricated pistol following a suspect’s confession. Investigations are ongoing, with efforts focused on arresting other fleeing gang members.

In Bauchi State, a joint team comprising police officers, vigilantes and local hunters foiled a kidnapping attempt, neutralizing one suspected kidnapper and recovering three empty AK-47 shell casings from the scene.

Police operations in Ogun State also yielded significant results. Two suspected cattle rustlers were arrested, while six stolen cows and an abandoned vehicle were recovered. In another operation, an armed robbery suspect was apprehended and a stolen motorcycle recovered. Efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects and recover the remaining stolen livestock.

In Ebonyi State, police arrested a murder suspect in one operation, while tactical teams restored calm after repelling a violent mob attack in another. Security patrols have since been intensified as investigators work to identify and arrest those responsible for the disturbance.

In Kano State, operatives arrested a suspect over alleged child trafficking and rescued three female children believed to be victims of the crime.

Lagos State police also arrested a suspected armed robber during a routine patrol, recovering a locally fabricated pistol, while investigations continue to track down the suspect’s accomplices.

In Ondo State, police arrested two suspected kidnappers and armed robbers, recovering a stolen Lexus RX350 vehicle, a firearm, a stolen mobile phone and other exhibits linked to their alleged criminal activities.

Meanwhile, in Akwa Ibom State, intelligence-led operations resulted in the arrest of four suspected criminals and the recovery of a locally made pistol. Police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend another suspect who escaped during the operation.

The Force assured Nigerians that investigations have commenced in all the cases through the various State Criminal Investigation Departments, while reaffirming its resolve to sustain intelligence-driven operations and strengthen collaboration with other security agencies and local communities in the fight against crime nationwide.
