A high-level delegation from the Nigeria Communications Commission paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, in Jos, to discuss strategic collaboration and the development of the state’s digital economy.

The visit, aimed at strengthening engagement between the NCC and state stakeholders, included key officials such as the Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, Rimini Makama; Director of Digital Economy, Helen Obi; and the Deputy Director, Legal and Regulatory Services, Lawrence Abang. Plateau State’s Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo, also received the delegation.

During the engagement, the team explored ways to enhance regulatory oversight, digital infrastructure, and stakeholder engagement within the state. The discussion highlighted opportunities to accelerate broadband penetration, expand ICT services, and ensure that emerging digital initiatives align with national communications policy objectives.

The NCC delegation emphasized the importance of state-level collaboration in driving digital transformation and leveraging technology to improve governance, economic growth, and citizen access to communication services. Governor Mutfwang welcomed the visit, noting that partnerships with regulatory authorities like the NCC are vital to advancing Plateau State’s digital economy agenda.

The meeting concluded with commitments to ongoing collaboration between the NCC and Plateau State government to support innovation, improve service delivery, and strengthen regulatory frameworks for a vibrant and inclusive digital ecosystem.
