The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, Chief Executive Officer of Konga Group, on his recent international recognition with two prestigious awards, the Forbes Best of Africa E-Commerce Leadership Award 2025 and the Distinguished EuroKnowledge Award for Emerging Leadership in Digital Transformation.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Public Relations, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described the honours as a proud moment for Nigeria and a testament to the innovation, resilience, and leadership excellence of young Nigerians who continue to drive Africa’s digital transformation.
She commended Prince Ekeh’s entrepreneurial vision and commitment to building sustainable businesses that create opportunities for growth, empowerment, and inclusion. According to her, the awards underscore how young Nigerian innovators are not only shaping the future of technology and commerce in Africa but also representing the nation positively on the global stage.
“Prince Nnamdi Ekeh’s recognition by Forbes and EuroKnowledge is a well-deserved reward for his dedication to innovation and leadership in digital transformation. It reflects the new face of Nigerian excellence, bold, creative, and globally competitive,” Dabiri-Erewa stated.
Prince Ekeh, who led the strategic acquisition of Konga from global investors Naspers and Kinnevik in 2018, later merged it with Yudala to create Africa’s first true omnichannel e-commerce enterprise. Under his leadership, Konga has evolved into a diversified technology ecosystem encompassing KongaPay (fintech), Konga Logistics, Konga Health, and Konga Travel & Tours. The group currently serves over four million customers and manages a merchant network of about 250,000 across Nigeria.
Dabiri-Erewa further lauded Ekeh’s philosophy of “building commercial scale with a social soul,” describing him as a symbol of purpose-driven leadership whose impact extends beyond the corporate space to national development, empowerment, and technological inclusion.
She also urged young Nigerians to draw inspiration from his entrepreneurial journey, which she said embodies innovation, integrity, and the transformative power of hard work and vision.
“With leaders like Prince Ekeh blazing the trail, the world is taking greater notice of the immense talent and potential that Nigeria continues to produce,” the NiDCOM boss concluded.
