The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its logistics architecture and enhancing operational efficiency through deeper collaboration with the private sector, as it moves to improve fleet sustainment and overall combat readiness.
According to an official statement signed by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, stated this while receiving the executive management of Elizade Nigeria Limited during a courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
Represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Bamidele Alabi, the COAS said a reliable and mission-ready vehicle fleet remained fundamental to sustaining combat effectiveness, ensuring rapid deployment of troops and enabling the Nigerian Army to respond swiftly to evolving security challenges across the country.
He explained that strengthening partnerships with the private sector had become a critical component of the Army’s strategy to improve logistics support, fleet management, equipment maintenance, technical support and manpower development.
Lieutenant General Shaibu noted that the collaboration with Elizade Nigeria Limited aligns with the Nigerian Army’s transformation agenda of building a more agile, technologically enabled and self-reliant force capable of effectively carrying out its constitutional responsibilities.
He commended the company for its longstanding support through the supply of vehicles, maintenance services, technical collaboration and industrial training programmes for personnel of military workshop units, noting that such contributions had strengthened the Army’s logistics architecture and improved operational efficiency.
The COAS also reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to providing a secure environment that supports economic growth, encourages investment and reinforces the relationship between national security and national development.
He stressed that stronger collaboration among the military, government institutions and the private sector would remain indispensable to building resilient defence capabilities, sustaining operational effectiveness and fostering lasting peace and prosperity.
The statement added that the Branch Manager of Elizade Nigeria Limited, Mr Adeniji Abiodun Adeyinka, conveyed the goodwill of the company’s Founder, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, and its management to the Chief of Army Staff.
Adeyinka praised Lieutenant General Shaibu’s leadership and commended the Nigerian Army for its efforts in addressing the country’s complex security challenges.
He also reaffirmed Elizade Nigeria Limited’s commitment to expanding its longstanding partnership with the Nigerian Army through enhanced technical support, fleet maintenance services, industrial attachment opportunities and the provision of quality automotive solutions tailored to the Army’s evolving operational needs.
