Troops of Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have intensified efforts to cripple terrorist logistics networks with the arrest of four suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP collaborators allegedly involved in supplying drugs, food items and other essential materials to insurgents operating in parts of Yobe and Borno states.

According to an official statement signed by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, the arrests were made during separate intelligence-led operations conducted on August 3, 2026, as part of sustained military efforts to dismantle terrorist support structures across the North-East.

The statement said troops of the 159 Battalion under Sector 2 arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators during a cordon-and-search operation in Geidam Town, Yobe State, following credible intelligence.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly supplied hard drugs and other logistics to Boko Haram fighters to sustain insurgent activities.

Recovered from the suspects were a large quantity of suspected Indian hemp, several mobile phones, power banks, scissors, knives, torchlights, lighters, cigarette rolls, Pregabalin capsules, Piscof syrup, a National Identity Card, Permanent Voter’s Card, ATM cards and ₦14,530 in cash.

In a separate operation in Monguno Town, Borno State, troops of Sector 3 Garrison, working with the 242 Reconnaissance Battalion, arrested two suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers after sustained surveillance of terrorist supply routes.

The military said the suspects admitted during preliminary interrogation that they transported food items and other supplies to ISWAP fighters operating in Kwatan Dowoshi Village in Kukawa Local Government Area.

Items recovered included 11 cartons and 192 sachets of assorted biscuits, one carton of Peak milk, 10 mudu of sugar, nine bars of Viva soap, six headlamps, two bags and 16 rolls of sachet garri, three packs of lighters, two Tecno button phones, an assault knife, a charm belt, four prayer beads, six packs of herbal medicine, ₦6,600 in cash and other assorted items believed to be destined for the terrorists.

In a related development, troops of the 222 Battalion intercepted 20 suspected family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) terrorists during a routine patrol along the Gezuwa axis in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The group, comprising nine women, two men, eight female minors and one male minor, reportedly told investigators they fled their enclave in Gezuwa following sustained military offensives against terrorist hideouts in the area.

The military said the intercepted individuals had been handed over to the 21 Military Intelligence Regiment for profiling and further necessary action, while the four arrested suspects and all recovered exhibits were transferred to the appropriate Military Intelligence units for further investigation and exploitation.

Operation HADIN KAI said the operations reflected the effectiveness of its intelligence-driven campaign to disrupt terrorist logistics, dismantle support networks and deny Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters access to critical supplies, while urging members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to strengthen ongoing counter-terrorism efforts across the North-East.
