President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede, on the occasion of his birthday, commending his courage, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to advancing Nigeria’s anti-corruption crusade.
In an official statement signed by the EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, and quoting a presidential release issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Mr. Olukoyede for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the Commission’s mandate.
“Mr. Olukoyede has demonstrated professionalism and courage in the discharge of his duties, reinforcing the EFCC’s mission to rid the nation of economic and financial crimes,” the President stated.
President Tinubu lauded the EFCC Chairman’s ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability within Nigeria’s governance and anti-graft institutions. He also commended Olukoyede’s efforts in establishing the Special Task Force on Currency Offences, which is tackling naira abuse and the dollarisation of the economy, as well as his strategic initiatives against cybercrimes and economic sabotage.
The President described Olukoyede’s leadership as a vital force in sustaining the momentum of the anti-corruption fight and ensuring that the EFCC remains a credible and professional institution.
He further prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the EFCC boss, expressing confidence in his determination to help free Nigeria from the “economic ills that have tied the nation down for ages.”
Mr. Olukoyede, who was appointed EFCC Chairman in 2023, has introduced a number of institutional reforms aimed at repositioning the Commission for greater efficiency, accountability, and impact in the fight against corruption and financial crimes.
