The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has mourned the death of its former Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, describing his passing as a painful loss to the Corps and the nation while affirming that his contributions to road safety administration and institutional development will endure.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, FCA, FCTA, CPFA, stated this in a condolence message, in which he paid tribute to the late former head of the Corps for his dedication, discipline and commitment to public service.
Mohammed described Biu’s death as a profound loss to his immediate family, loved ones, the road safety community and Nigeria, noting that the deceased devoted a significant part of his life to serving humanity and promoting the safety of Nigerians.
He recalled that Biu joined the FRSC in its formative years and rose through the ranks to become the seventh substantive Corps Marshal, a position he held from July 2022 to May 2024.
According to Mohammed, the late officer’s years of service reflected his deep understanding of the Corps’ mandate and his commitment to strengthening road safety administration, improving operational effectiveness and advancing institutional development.
The Corps Marshal noted that Biu’s contributions to the growth of the FRSC remained an integral part of its institutional history and a legacy upon which the Corps would continue to build.
He said the deceased’s passing was not merely the loss of a former leader but also that of a colleague, seasoned professional and compatriot whose service to the nation would not be forgotten.
“On behalf of the Management and the entire workforce of the Federal Road Safety Corps, I extend my deepest condolences to his immediate family, friends, associates and all those whose lives he touched,” Mohammed said.
He added that the Corps shared in the grief of the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God would grant them the strength to bear the loss.
