The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has congratulated Christians across the country on the occasion of Easter and urged them to use the lessons of the season to rededicate themselves to the values and virtues of zero corruption.

In an official signed statement by the commission’s spokesperson Dele Oyewale, released on Saturday, April 19, 2025, Olukoyede pointed out that the Easter season signifies the importance of renewal and restoration, which are needed to build strength against corrupt practices. He emphasized that the season offers opportunities for renewal, revival, and restoration, and urged Christians to revive the overriding need for integrity, transparency, and higher ideals for the development of the nation.

The EFCC boss reminded Christians of the sufferings and sacrifices of Jesus Christ for the redemption of mankind, stressing that such ideals are necessary for nation-building and sustainable development. He called on all Nigerians to redouble their energy and embrace sacrifices, no matter how demanding, for the rebuilding of the nation.

Olukoyede applauded the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that it resonates deeply with Christian beliefs of resurrection and revival. He expressed his abiding faith in Nigeria and urged Nigerians to grow stronger each day in their quest for reform and development.

The EFCC boss assured Nigerians of the Commission’s continued commitment to breaking the backbone of corruption, urging every stakeholder in the anti-graft corridor to be unrelenting and uncompromising. “We have put our hands on the plough, we cannot afford to look back,” he said.
