The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) Secondary School, Asokoro, Abuja, has recorded a major milestone with the graduation of its pioneer set of students, marking the school’s first-ever graduation ceremony since its establishment.
The event attracted senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force, members of NAFOWA, parents and other invited guests who gathered to celebrate the successful completion of the students’ secondary education and the fulfilment of the Association’s vision of providing quality, affordable and value-based education.
Speaking at the ceremony as the Special Guest of Honour, the President of NAFOWA, Mrs Ngozi Aneke, described the graduation as the culmination of years of dedication, resilience and unwavering commitment to educational development. She said the success of the pioneer graduating class demonstrated that the school’s vision of nurturing academic excellence, discipline, integrity and leadership was already producing positive results.
Mrs Aneke paid tribute to the former National President of NAFOWA, Mrs Elizabeth Amao, whose leadership led to the establishment of the school. She urged the graduating students to remain worthy ambassadors of their families, the institution, NAFOWA, the Nigerian Air Force and the nation by upholding the values of integrity, humility and excellence. She also encouraged younger students to emulate the graduating class, stressing that success is built on hard work, consistency and resilience.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates and awards to outstanding students in recognition of academic excellence and exemplary character.
In her vote of thanks, the Commandant of NAFOWA Secondary School, Flight Lieutenant Ngozi Ogbo, expressed appreciation to the NAFOWA President, members of the Association, parents, teachers and guests for their continued support towards the growth of the institution.
She commended the teaching staff for their commitment to nurturing the pioneer students and congratulated the graduating class for making history as the school’s first alumni. Flight Lieutenant Ogbo reaffirmed the school’s commitment to maintaining high standards of academic excellence, discipline and moral values as it continues to prepare future leaders.
