The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, has dismissed an appeal seeking to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the Action Alliance (AA), clearing the way for the party to participate in activities leading to the 2027 General Elections.

According to an official statement signed by the National Chairman of Action Alliance, Chief Barrister Kenneth Udeze, the appellate court delivered the judgment on July 28, 2026, dismissing the appeal and reaffirming the party’s status as a duly registered political party.

The party described the ruling as a landmark legal victory, saying it effectively brings to an end attempts to challenge the legitimacy of the Udeze-led National Executive Committee.

Action Alliance stated that the judgment confirms its constitutional recognition as a political party and validates the leadership of Chief Kenneth Udeze as the lawful and subsisting leadership of the party.

The party expressed gratitude to God for what it described as the triumph of justice and commended its legal team, led by Barrister Madeh Yakubu and Barrister Peters Ugwuoke, for their professionalism and commitment throughout the legal proceedings.

Action Alliance also thanked its members, candidates who emerged from its primaries across the country, and supporters for their confidence in the party, assuring them that it remains committed to providing an alternative political platform ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The party called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to give full effect to the judgment by according the Udeze-led National Executive all rights, privileges and recognition due to it under the Electoral Act 2022.

It further maintained that the judgment reinforces the importance of the rule of law in Nigeria’s democratic process and reaffirmed its resolve to continue pursuing its political programmes without distraction.
