Barely 48 hours after the launch of Operation KO S’AYE, the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands have recorded a major operational breakthrough in their intensified crackdown on kidnapping and other violent crimes across both states.
In a coordinated operation, police operatives combing the forest boundary between Lagos and Ogun States along the J3/J4 axis of Ogbere in Ogun State successfully rescued five kidnapped victims from their captors.
The operation also resulted in the neutralisation of four suspected kidnappers, while four other suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate were arrested. Additionally, police apprehended 84 other suspects for various criminal offences during the ongoing security operation.
Security operatives recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and other incriminating exhibits from the suspects, further dealing a significant blow to criminal elements operating within the affected areas.
The Nigeria Police Force said the success demonstrates the effectiveness of its intelligence-led policing strategy and sustained security operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and ensuring that kidnappers and other violent offenders have no safe haven.
The Force reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining pressure on criminal elements, stressing that forests previously used as hideouts by kidnappers and other armed gangs would no longer serve as sanctuaries.
As Operation KO S’AYE gathers momentum, the police reiterated the campaign’s message, “Ko S’AYE fun iwa odaran” meaning “No Place for Criminality” while assuring residents of Lagos and Ogun States of continued efforts to enhance security and protect lives and property.
