The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and Zenith Bank Plc have moved to strengthen their strategic partnership, with renewed emphasis on improving personnel welfare, expanding access to financial services and supporting initiatives designed to enhance the wellbeing of officers and personnel.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, disclosed this on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, when he received the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, Dame (Dr) Adaora Umeoji, and her delegation on a courtesy visit to NAF Headquarters, Abuja.

Aneke said the partnership would provide opportunities for both organisations to expand collaboration in areas that directly affect the financial wellbeing and quality of life of NAF personnel.

He highlighted customised salary management, personal loans, affordable mortgage schemes and other financial services as areas where Zenith Bank could provide enhanced support to officers and personnel.

The CAS stressed that personnel welfare remained critical to building a motivated, professional and combat-ready force, noting that operational effectiveness depended not only on modern platforms and rigorous training but also on the welfare and financial security of personnel.

Aneke also identified the Chief of the Air Staff Youth Empowerment Programme (CASYEP) as another potential area of collaboration with Zenith Bank.

He said support for the programme would further complement efforts by the NAF to empower its personnel and contribute to their overall wellbeing.

Earlier, Umeoji congratulated Air Marshal Aneke on his appointment as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff and commended the progress recorded under his leadership.

She expressed Zenith Bank’s readiness to build on its existing relationship with the NAF and explore additional areas of strategic collaboration.

The engagement underscored the shared commitment of the NAF and Zenith Bank to developing a stronger partnership capable of delivering meaningful benefits to personnel while supporting the Service’s operational effectiveness.

The strengthened collaboration is expected to promote greater financial security and welfare support for NAF personnel, contributing to a motivated and resilient workforce capable of carrying out its mandate in defence of Nigeria.
