The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) to enhance the delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable Nigerians across the country.
Mrs. Umar made the commitment while receiving a delegation from KSrelief at the NEMA Headquarters in Abuja.
She commended KSrelief for its sustained support to humanitarian interventions in Nigeria, noting that the collaboration has continued to complement the Federal Government’s efforts in addressing the needs of persons affected by disasters and other humanitarian challenges.
The NEMA Director General emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in improving the effectiveness of humanitarian response and ensuring that assistance reaches vulnerable populations in a timely manner.
Speaking during the visit, the KSrelief representative, Mr. Majeed Alanazi, said the delegation was at NEMA to strengthen engagement ahead of the commencement of the direct distribution of food baskets donated by the organization to vulnerable households in selected states.
Mr. Alanazi expressed appreciation to NEMA for its longstanding partnership and support in facilitating humanitarian interventions, stressing KSrelief’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and improving the welfare of people in need.
He disclosed that the direct distribution of food baskets would be carried out in Yobe, Benue, Kebbi, Taraba, and Anambra States as part of efforts to alleviate hardship among vulnerable households.
The visit further underscored the growing collaboration between NEMA and KSrelief in advancing humanitarian assistance and strengthening support mechanisms for disaster-affected and vulnerable communities across Nigeria.
