The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Mrs. Olubukola Moyo Babajide on her appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by His Majesty King Charles III in recognition of her outstanding contributions to technology, business and inclusion.
According to an official signed statement by the Head, Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit of NiDCOM, Mr. Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Mrs. Babajide was named among recipients of the King’s Birthday Honours List and received the prestigious MBE award for her remarkable impact in advancing technology, empowering businesses and promoting inclusion within the United Kingdom and beyond.
The statement described Mrs. Babajide as a distinguished Nigerian in the diaspora, entrepreneur, technology leader and founder of Crystal Options Ltd. and Female Techpreneur, whose accomplishments have continued to project Nigeria positively on the global stage.
Dabiri-Erewa noted that the honour was a fitting recognition of excellence, innovation and impactful leadership, adding that Mrs. Babajide’s achievements have brought pride not only to Nigeria but also to the global Nigerian diaspora community.
According to the NiDCOM Chairman, the recognition reflects the resilience, brilliance and positive impact of Nigerians making meaningful contributions across the world.
“Bukola Babajide’s recognition with the MBE is a testament to the resilience, brilliance, and positive impact of Nigerians across the world. Through her work in technology, entrepreneurship, and advocacy for greater inclusion, she has demonstrated the values of hard work, innovation, and service that continue to distinguish Nigerians globally,” she said.
Dabiri-Erewa further stated that the award highlights the significant role Nigerians in the diaspora continue to play in driving economic growth, technological advancement and social development in their countries of residence while maintaining strong connections with Nigeria.
She commended Mrs. Babajide for serving as an inspiration to young Nigerians, particularly women and aspiring entrepreneurs, encouraging them to pursue excellence and create lasting impact in society.
The NiDCOM Chairman also expressed confidence that the recognition would motivate more Nigerians in the diaspora to contribute positively to their communities and support national development efforts.
