The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has delivered crucial medical supplies and relief materials to victims of the recent explosions in Maiduguri, Borno State, as part of the Federal Government’s ongoing humanitarian support.

The delivery, which included medical consumables, assorted medicaments, and food and non-food items for affected families, was led by the Director-General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She was joined by the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, during the visit to Maiduguri.

Vice President Shettima expressed sympathy for the victims and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring their full recovery. At the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where several injured victims are receiving treatment, he informed the Chief Medical Director that the medical supplies were provided to support ongoing healthcare efforts.

The visit was also attended by the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur, and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Special Duties, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan.

The intervention highlights the Federal Government’s dedication to providing timely humanitarian assistance and medical support to victims of emergencies across the country, ensuring that relief reaches those in urgent need.
