The National Emergency Management Agency has deployed an emergency response team following an incident involving a passenger train along the Abuja–Kaduna railway corridor.

The Director-General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar, ordered the immediate deployment of the team to the location of the incident, directing that swift response measures be activated.

According to the agency, the response team is being led by the Director of Search and Rescue, who is coordinating emergency operations and assessment at the scene.

In addition to the deployment, the NEMA Director-General also established contact with the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation to obtain updates on the situation and to strengthen collaboration between both agencies in managing the incident.

The move, according to the agency, is aimed at ensuring effective coordination of emergency response efforts and improving safety and response mechanisms along the Abuja–Kaduna rail corridor.
