ON-THE- SPOT ASSESSMENT OF WINDSTORM/RAINSTORM DISASTER IN THREE (3) LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF OSUN STATE BY NEMA

Following the occurence of windstorm/rainstorm

 disaster in three (3) Local Government Areas Of Osun State,  which occured on 13th February,2024.Namely:

i.  Olaoluwa 

Ii.  Egbedore

Iii.  Iwo

 The South West Zonal Office in collaboration with Osun State Emergency Management Agency(Osun SEMA) and Local Government Officials carried out an on -the- Spot Assessment of the windstorm/rainstorm disaster in the affected  Local Government Areas of the State  on 23rd February,2024.

The  Joint  assessment Team  were conveyed round the affected areas  by the Chairman  of Olaoluwa L.G.A  (Hon) Omidele kazeem.He appreciate the Team for the swift response.

The disaster affected properties worth millions of Naira such as residential  buildings, kiosk, electric poles and worship centers.  However, During the assessment, it was  observed that the affected persons are in dire need of humanitarian assistance to enable them recover from the losses. No life was lost in the incident while, Some of the displaced  Persons are currently staying with  friends and relatives.
