The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has been conferred with the prestigious Integrity and Ambassadorial Award by the Nigeria Patriotic Youth Against Corruption and Transparency Initiative (NPYACTI). The award was presented at a special ceremony held at the EFCC’s Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
According to an official statement signed by the EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the award is in recognition of Olukoyede’s outstanding service to the nation, particularly his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and anti-corruption initiatives.
During the presentation, Ambassador Emmanuel Dapeh, the coordinator of NPYACTI, described Olukoyede as a paragon of good leadership and an embodiment of integrity whose principles align with the aspirations of a corruption-free Nigeria.
“We are not ignorant of the unblemished records and antecedents of Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede, a man who has empowered youths and found solace in them. Your unadulterated values of humility, hard work, integrity, and above all, patriotism have been our sources of motivation and moral guidance,” Dapeh said.
He added that the organisation, after extensive deliberation, unanimously ratified Olukoyede as the recipient of the 2025 NPYACTI Integrity and Ambassadorial Award. Dapeh further pledged NPYACTI’s unalloyed support and collaboration with the EFCC in the fight against corruption and financial crimes.
Receiving the award on behalf of the EFCC Chairman, Aisha Muhammed, an Assistant Commander of the EFCC and Head of the Enlightenment and Reorientation Unit, thanked NPYACTI for the honour. She reaffirmed the EFCC’s dedication to preventive measures in the fight against corruption, especially through youth engagement.
“Mr. Olukoyede is deeply patriotic about his assignment, working tirelessly to ensure a secure and corruption-free future for Nigerian youths,” she said.
Muhammed highlighted the Commission’s focus on prevention through education and awareness, pointing to EFCC’s establishment of Integrity Clubs in primary and secondary schools, as well as Zero Tolerance Clubs in tertiary institutions.
“The EFCC is not just about arrests. Before prosecution, we carry out extensive sensitization on the dangers and consequences of corruption,” she explained. “We are committed to catching them young by equipping the youth with the tools to uphold integrity and transparency.”
She assured NPYACTI of EFCC’s continued support and willingness to collaborate on programmes that promote ethical values among the youth. “Even though the Chairman is not physically here, I can assure you that the EFCC is solidly behind you. We are ready to provide resource persons, materials, and all the support needed to achieve our shared goals.”
The event underscores the EFCC’s strategic focus on youth engagement as a core component of its anti-corruption campaign and marks another milestone in Olukoyede’s leadership trajectory since assuming office as EFCC Chairman.
