The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed Search and Rescue (SAR) teams following an aircraft accident involving an ATR-42 aircraft in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State.
The accident occurred on Monday, October 5, 2026, while the aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos, according to an official statement signed by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
The statement said the ongoing Search and Rescue operation was being conducted in coordination with relevant authorities and emergency response agencies.
The NAF said it was committed to ensuring the success of the rescue operation, adding that further details would be communicated as they become available.
No details were immediately provided on the number of persons aboard the aircraft, the circumstances surrounding the accident or the condition of those involved.
