The Nigerian Navy has warned members of the public against a fake recruitment notice circulating on social media, purportedly announcing the Nigerian Navy Recruitment 2026 Batch 39 exercise.
The warning was contained in an official statement signed by the Director of Naval Information, Nigerian Navy, Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, who said the circulating notice was not authorised by the service and should not be regarded as an official recruitment announcement.
Folorunsho urged prospective applicants to disregard recruitment information obtained from unofficial social media accounts, websites and other unauthorised sources, stressing that authentic information on the exercise would only be released through authorised Nigerian Navy communication channels.
He said official information on eligibility requirements, application procedures, timelines and recruitment categories would be communicated through the Nigerian Navy’s recognised platforms.
The Navy identified its official recruitment and enlistment website as http://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng, while its official corporate website remains https://navy.mil.ng.
The service also cautioned prospective applicants against making payments to individuals, agents or unauthorised platforms in connection with recruitment, stressing that the exercise is free of charge.
“The Nigerian Navy does not authorise third parties to recruit applicants or collect recruitment fees on its behalf,” the statement said.
The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a transparent and credible recruitment process, assuring the public that timely and accurate information would continue to be provided through its official communication channels.
