The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has expressed grief over the death of its Rivers State Coordinator, ASP Raymond Divine Akachim, describing his passing as a painful loss to the campaign against cultism and other social vices.
According to a statement signed by the National Coordinator, POCACOV, SP Orvenonne Ikwen, Akachim died while preparing to commence plans and activities aimed at advancing POCACOV’s mission of preventive policing, youth engagement and the promotion of safer communities in Rivers State.
Ikwen said the late coordinator’s plans were beginning to take shape, with intended engagements involving communities and young people as part of efforts to impact lives and strengthen the campaign against cultism and other vices.
He described Akachim’s sudden death as particularly painful, noting that his journey of service had only just begun when he passed away.
“We mourn not only the loss of a Coordinator, but the loss of a colleague who had answered the call to serve and was ready to contribute to a cause dedicated to protecting the future of our young people,” Ikwen said.
He added that while some lives end before the work they set out to accomplish is completed, the memory of their willingness to serve and the purpose they embraced remains.
The POCACOV National Coordinator extended condolences to Akachim’s immediate family, loved ones, colleagues and friends, praying that God would grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
