Defence Properties Limited (DPL) has unveiled a renewed drive for operational growth and improved welfare for personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria following the assumption of office of its new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Major General Isaiah Allison.

According to an official statement signed by the General Manager, Strategy, Defence Properties Limited, Nigerian Navy Capt JD John-Ogudire, for Management, Major General Allison assumed office on 10 July 2026, succeeding Brigadier General Sebhil Adeyemo, at a ceremony held at the company’s Head Office in Guzape, Abuja.

The statement said the new administration is focused on strengthening DPL’s operations, expanding its real estate activities and advancing initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of military personnel.

It noted that the administration’s priorities align with the strategic philosophy of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, which emphasises greater jointness, sound administration and improved welfare as key pillars for strengthening the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

The statement added that these objectives are being pursued across the Defence Holdings Company Limited under the leadership of the Group Managing Director, Air Vice Marshal AV Ndace, with Major General Allison responsible for driving their implementation at DPL.

As part of efforts to provide the company with a clear strategic direction, the new administration organised DPL’s maiden retreat from 14 to 16 August 2026 at the Armed Forces Mess, Asokoro, Abuja.

The retreat, themed “Launching Out with Clarity & Focus,” provided an opportunity for staff to review the company’s operations, strengthen professional capacity and agree on a clearer path for future activities.

The statement said Major General Allison’s approach focuses on developing staff and revitalising DPL’s operations in a manner that would generate resources for effective administration and improved welfare.

It added that his vision includes expanding the company’s real estate activities across the country, increasing productivity and ensuring the effective management of defence properties for the benefit of personnel of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force.

The new administration has also commenced inspections of DPL facilities and strengthened cooperation with sister companies under the Defence Holdings Company Limited.

Accordingly, on 21 August 2026, DPL paid courtesy visits to Defence Farms/Agro-Allied Products Limited and Defence Engineering Services Limited, where areas of mutual interest and opportunities for enhanced collaboration were discussed.

The company said the early activities of the new administration demonstrate a deliberate shift from leadership transition to strategic planning and implementation.

DPL said it would continue to focus on improving its operations, increasing productivity, expanding its real estate activities and contributing to the welfare of personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
