The Nigerian Army has opened applications for eligible Nigerians seeking commission into the service as Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) officers under Course 50/2027.
The application is open to qualified civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated requirements for the commission.
Successful applicants will undergo military training and, upon completion, be commissioned as SSCC officers to serve in the Combat Arms, including the Infantry and Armour Corps, as well as Combat Support Arms such as Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.
Prospective applicants are required to access the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal, nashortservice.army.mil.ng, select the SSCC option and carefully follow the application instructions.
The Army warned members of the public against online application portals or recruitment announcements purportedly opened before the official commencement of the exercise.
Applicants were also advised to rely only on information disseminated through official Nigerian Army channels to avoid falling victim to fraudulent recruitment schemes.
The Army further encouraged prospective applicants and members of the public to watch for official recruitment jingles on television and radio stations following the commencement of the application.
The application window will close on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
For further enquiries, applicants can contact 07016874003 or 07047340295. The lines will be available daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
