The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has thrown its weight behind the forthcoming Nigeria-Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit, describing the initiative as a strategic platform for expanding trade, investment and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

According to an official statement signed by the Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit of NiDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Commission’s Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, made the position known during a pre-event media conference held at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja ahead of the second edition of the summit.

Represented by the Commission’s Secretary, Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi, Dabiri-Erewa said the exhibition would help dispel misconceptions about investing in both countries while highlighting available opportunities and addressing challenges confronting investors. She noted that the maiden edition of the summit in 2019 attracted more than 30 Saudi Arabian companies, demonstrating the potential for stronger commercial engagement between both nations.

She described the exhibition as a timely initiative that would deepen bilateral investment relations, create new business opportunities and provide a platform for entrepreneurs, investors and other stakeholders to forge productive partnerships.

The NiDCOM Chairman also commended the organisers, Al Yaro International Limited, for their sustained efforts in promoting investment visibility and facilitating economic collaboration between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at the media briefing, the Commission’s Head of Department, Technology Transfer, Innovation and Investment, Hon. Abdulrahman Terab, said the exhibition had been carefully structured to give participants a better understanding of the investment climate in both countries while fostering meaningful business relationships.

Terab observed that although Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have maintained cordial diplomatic, cultural and socio-economic relations over the years, there remains significant potential to strengthen economic cooperation through increased investment and trade.

He said participants would have the opportunity to explore investment prospects in strategic sectors such as agriculture, real estate, technology transfer, trade and tourism, urging Nigerians and other stakeholders to take advantage of the summit.

One of the organisers, Mr. Muhammed Umar Yaro, announced that the Nigeria-Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit will hold on August 4 and 5, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.

Yaro said the two-day event is designed to unlock investment opportunities and provide a platform for policymakers, investors and business leaders to explore practical ways of strengthening Nigeria-Saudi Arabia trade and business relations.

He disclosed that the exhibition is expected to feature over 100 exhibitors, attract more than 5,000 visitors and showcase opportunities across 20 investment sectors, including energy, agriculture, real estate, tourism and manufacturing.

He encouraged interested participants to register for the summit to participate in discussions on investment opportunities, challenges and prospects in both countries, while expressing appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the NiDCOM Chairman for their continued support towards the initiative.

The exhibition is being organised by Al Yaro International Company in collaboration with NiDCOM, Almanafie, the Association of Nigerians in Diaspora, Saudi Arabia (ANDiSA), and Suruh Alhijaz.
