President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi, on the occasion of his birthday, praising his dedication, patriotism and commitment to delivering durable road infrastructure across the country.
According to an official statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Umahi as one of the most hardworking members of his cabinet, whose commitment to infrastructure development continues to advance the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
President Tinubu noted that before his appointment as Minister of Works, Umahi served as the Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District and was a two-term Governor of Ebonyi State from May 2015 to May 2023, during which the state witnessed significant infrastructural development.
The President commended the minister’s passion for duty and hands-on approach to project supervision, urging him to sustain the momentum by accelerating the construction, rehabilitation and completion of critical road projects to improve the quality of life of Nigerians and stimulate economic growth.
Describing Umahi as an outstanding and hardworking minister, President Tinubu said he remains deeply committed to ensuring that roads and bridges constructed under his supervision are durable and built to last.
The President also lauded the minister’s practice of personally inspecting construction sites across the country rather than relying solely on reports from subordinates, saying the approach has helped to ensure strict compliance with project specifications and approvals.
President Tinubu celebrated with Engineer Umahi, his family and associates, wishing him good health, renewed strength and greater success as he continues to serve the nation.
