Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have disrupted a suspected terrorist logistics network with the arrest of five suspected logistics suppliers in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State, in what the military described as another major effort to dismantle support structures sustaining terrorist activities in the North East.
According to an official signed statement by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, the suspects were arrested by troops of the 112 Task Force Battalion in conjunction with Hybrid Forces during a routine security operation conducted at about 1:30 p.m. on July 20, 2026.
The statement disclosed that the suspects were intercepted while transporting 491 cartons of Albe Stark 2.5 per cent dewormer and 100 cartons of multivitamin injections for animals without the required waybill or supporting documentation.
It added that a thorough search of the vehicles uncovered concealed medical supplies, including 32 cartons of Diclofenac Sodium Injection, 58 cartons of Benzylpenicillin Sodium BP, six cartons of Dexamethasone Injection, and 51 cartons of Metronidazole Intravenous Infusion.
Other items recovered during the operation included 30 units of 80-inch LG plasma televisions, 152 empty Bagco sacks, and seven mobile phones.
According to the statement, preliminary investigations revealed that the consignment was destined for a vendor in N’Djamena, Chad Republic, while part of the concealed medical supplies was to be transloaded into another truck near the Nigeria–Chad border in an apparent attempt to conceal the movement of the consignment and evade security checks.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the 24 Task Force Brigade for further investigation.
Operation HADIN KAI said the interception marked another significant breakthrough in its sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics and support networks across the North East, noting that disrupting suspicious supply chains and intercepting materials before they reach their destination would further deny terrorist groups the resources needed to sustain their operations.
The military also advised pharmaceutical distributors, transporters, healthcare providers, humanitarian organisations and other stakeholders to ensure that all bulk medical, pharmaceutical and agrochemical consignments are properly documented and, where necessary, coordinated with the appropriate military authorities before movement within the North East Theatre.
It explained that the measure is aimed at facilitating legitimate commercial and humanitarian activities while preventing terrorist elements from exploiting supply chains.
Operation HADIN KAI further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, stressing that public cooperation remains critical to disrupting terrorist logistics networks, supporting ongoing military operations, and consolidating lasting peace, security and stability across the North East.
