The Abuja Branch of the Obowu Development Association (ODA) has congratulated Chief Hon. Longers Anyanwu (Ebubedike Obowu) on his appointment as the Commissioner for Agriculture in Imo State by Governor Hope Odidika Uzodinma, CON, describing the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his leadership, integrity, competence and dedication to public service.

According to an official statement signed by Ichie Bede Ogueri Anyanwu, President of the Obowu Development Association (ODA), Abuja Branch, and Mr. Boniface Chinwendu Nwankwo, Secretary of the association, the appointment reflects the confidence reposed in Chief Anyanwu’s ability to make meaningful contributions to governance and the socio-economic development of Imo State.

The association described the appointment as not only a personal achievement for Chief Anyanwu but also a moment of pride for the entire Obowu community, noting that its sons and daughters have continued to distinguish themselves in leadership, governance and national development.

The statement said Chief Anyanwu has consistently demonstrated administrative competence, commitment to public service and dedication to the welfare of the people, qualities that earned him the trust of the governor and positioned him to oversee the state’s agricultural sector.

It expressed confidence that the new commissioner would deploy his experience and vision to implement innovative policies and programmes aimed at strengthening agricultural productivity and promoting sustainable rural development across Imo State.

The association also expressed optimism that under his leadership, the Ministry of Agriculture would introduce initiatives to improve food security, empower farmers through modern agricultural practices, expand access to agricultural inputs, create employment opportunities for young people and attract investments to boost the state’s agricultural value chain.

It noted that agriculture remains a critical pillar of economic diversification and sustainable development, expressing hope that Chief Anyanwu would play a leading role in advancing the Imo State Government’s vision of transforming the sector into a major driver of economic growth, wealth creation and improved livelihoods.

Describing the appointment as a source of pride for the people of Obowu, the association said the achievement should inspire younger generations to embrace hard work, integrity and selfless service as pathways to leadership and national development.

The ODA Abuja Branch also prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom, strength and good health for the new commissioner, expressing confidence that his tenure would be marked by impactful achievements that would benefit the people of Imo State.

The association reaffirmed its support for Chief Anyanwu and wished him a successful and productive tenure, expressing confidence that he would justify the confidence reposed in him and make significant contributions to the state’s development.
