The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has called on party leaders at all levels to emulate the dedication and work ethic of the APC National Woman Leader, Dr. Mary Alile-Adele, and the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, describing them as among the ruling party’s most committed national officers.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Kankia said the APC must guard against complacency as Nigeria’s political landscape becomes increasingly competitive, stressing that the party’s continued electoral success depends on leaders who are willing to invest their time, resources, intellect and energy in strengthening its structures.
He praised Dr. Mary Alile-Adele for what he described as an exceptional nationwide mobilisation drive, noting that she has gone beyond the traditional responsibilities of her office to emerge as one of the APC’s strongest grassroots mobilisers.
According to Kankia, Alile-Adele has consistently devoted her personal energy, intellectual capacity and resources to mobilising women, youths and other key stakeholders in support of the party across the country without waiting for directives or external prompting.
He observed that such voluntary commitment has become increasingly rare in contemporary politics, where many office holders restrict themselves to their official responsibilities.
Kankia maintained that party officials who genuinely believe in the APC’s ideals should draw inspiration from her example, arguing that enduring political success is built on sacrifice, loyalty and sustained grassroots engagement rather than titles alone.
The APC Legal Adviser also commended the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, describing him as one of the APC’s strongest public advocates whose consistent defence of the party’s policies has helped counter opposition narratives.
He said Morka has remained steadfast in articulating the party’s position on national issues despite sustained political attacks, adding that his performance has earned him admiration within the APC and made him, in his words, “the envy of opposition parties.”
Kankia noted that both leaders have demonstrated that effective leadership is measured by visible action rather than rhetoric, adding that their contributions have helped reinforce public confidence in the ruling party at a time of growing political competition.
He urged APC executives at the national, state and local levels to adopt the same spirit of dedication, warning that political parties flourish only when their leaders take personal responsibility for mobilising supporters and defending the party’s ideals.
“Dr. Mary Alile-Adele is more than a National Woman Leader. She has shown exceptional commitment by investing her time, energy, resources and intellectual capacity in building the party. Likewise, Felix Morka has remained a steadfast defender of our policies and programmes. These are qualities every party leader should emulate,” Kankia said.
He expressed confidence that the sacrifices and commitment demonstrated by both officials would strengthen the APC’s internal cohesion and enhance its long-term political prospects as the party positions itself for future electoral contests.
