The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its sustained campaign against kidnapping and other violent crimes with the successful rescue of a kidnap victim and the recovery of a Beretta pistol and other exhibits during a tactical operation in Song Local Government Area of the state.
According to an official signed statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa State Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the operation was carried out on 27 June 2026 by a combined team of police operatives attached to the Song Divisional Police Headquarters and local hunters.
The statement disclosed that the joint security team rescued Alhaji Rabe Suleiman, a resident of Roma Village in Suktu District, Song Local Government Area, who was abducted in the early hours of 26 June 2026.
Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives tracked the kidnappers to their hideout around the Morogma Mountains, where they engaged the armed criminals in a fierce gun battle.
The Command said the kidnappers, overwhelmed by the superior firepower and tactical response of the security team, fled into the surrounding mountains with suspected gunshot wounds, abandoning the victim, who was rescued unhurt.
During a search of the area, security operatives recovered one Beretta pistol, one live round of Beretta ammunition, a torchlight, a small bag, suspected charms and food items believed to have been abandoned by the fleeing suspects.
The rescued victim was immediately taken to a medical facility for examination and was later reunited with his family.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hasan, fdc, commended the courage, professionalism and effective collaboration between police operatives and the local hunters, describing the operation as another demonstration of the Command’s resolve to rid the state of criminal elements.
He directed security personnel to intensify efforts to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects, while reaffirming the Command’s commitment to combating kidnapping and other violent crimes and ensuring the protection of lives and property across Adamawa State.
