The Honourable Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, has called on stakeholders in Zamfara State to embrace unity and collective responsibility in advancing the development of the state and the nation.
According to an official signed statement by Queenet Iheoma-Hart, Chief Information Officer, for the Director of Information and Public Relations, the Minister made the call on Wednesday while receiving members of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Zamfara State Chapter, during an advocacy visit to his office in Abuja.
Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Matawalle commended the Association for initiating a summit aimed at addressing critical issues affecting Zamfara State. He described the initiative as timely and emphasized the importance of a shared commitment to the state’s progress.
“The future calls for dedication to the service of Zamfara State, to ensure that Zamfara becomes greater,” the Minister stated.
He further urged citizens and stakeholders to set aside their differences and work together in pursuit of common goals.
“We must work together in all fields of human endeavour to make our dear state and our nation greater,” he added.
Earlier, the Chairman of AANI, Zamfara State Chapter, Muhammad Mujitaba Isah, FCTI, mni, said the visit was intended to acknowledge Dr. Matawalle’s leadership and contributions to public service, both as a former Executive Governor of Zamfara State and as a member of the Federal Executive Council.
Isah noted that the Association sought the Minister’s counsel and support ahead of its forthcoming summit scheduled for July 2026.
He explained that the event would bring together political leaders, policymakers, academics, and other stakeholders from across the state to deliberate on key issues relating to security, economic development, and the welfare of the people of Zamfara State.
The planned summit is expected to provide a platform for robust discussions and practical recommendations aimed at addressing the state’s developmental challenges and promoting sustainable growth.
