Hundreds of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from various disability clusters across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and surrounding areas have received cash assistance and food items from the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
According to an official signed statement by APC National Leader of Persons with Disabilities, Aare (Hon.) Tolu Bankole, the support initiative underscored the party’s commitment to inclusivity and the welfare of vulnerable groups.
The symbolic presentation was conducted on behalf of the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, by his Principal Private Secretary, Comrade Jibrin Kamga Bancir, during an event coordinated by Bankole.
Addressing beneficiaries and party members, Comrade Bancir conveyed the National Chairman’s appreciation and solidarity with persons living with disabilities, describing the intervention as part of the party’s efforts to ensure that PWDs benefit from programmes of the APC-led administration.
“I’m standing here on behalf of the National Chairman to appreciate you and welcome you to the APC National Secretariat,” Bancir said.
He added that the National Chairman fully supports initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of PWDs and encouraging greater participation of persons with disabilities in party activities.
“The little the APC National Leader of Persons with Disabilities, Aare Hon. Tolu Bankole, is doing, the National Chairman is backing him so that more PWDs will see the benefit of being members of APC. This is a party you belong to, and you are aware of what our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing to advance the cause of our country,” he stated.
Speaking at the event, Bankole commended Professor Yilwatda for his support and commitment to disability inclusion, describing the APC National Chairman as a dependable leader who has consistently demonstrated concern for the welfare of PWDs nationwide.
“We are stronger together. I appreciate the support of the National Chairman for his love and commitment to PWDs nationwide. He has shown leadership and comradeship. Today at the National Secretariat, we continue the distribution of cash and foodstuffs support to PWDs,” Bankole said.
Beneficiaries drawn from different groups, including the visually impaired, hearing impaired and other disability clusters, expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing the cash support and food items as timely assistance amid prevailing economic challenges.
The APC reaffirmed that the welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities remain key priorities under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging to sustain programmes focused on empowerment, representation and expanded opportunities for PWDs across the country.
