The Honourable Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, on Tuesday met with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, over plans to present President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s infrastructure achievements before the party’s National Working Committee.
According to an official signed statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Works (Media), Francis Nwaze, the meeting centred on fixing a date for Senator Umahi to formally brief the party leadership on the administration’s achievements in road and bridge construction projects being executed nationwide under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The statement noted that the projects have continued to attract commendations and positive reactions from Nigerians across various sectors.
During the meeting, Senator Umahi commended the APC National Chairman for introducing an engagement process that allows Ministers to appear before the National Working Committee on live telecast to account for the progress and gains recorded by the administration.
The Minister also praised Prof. Yilwatda for the successes recorded so far as APC National Chairman, particularly the peaceful conduct of the party’s primaries and the inclusive approach adopted by the National Working Committee in ensuring that aspirants were given the opportunity to contest freely.
Responding, Prof. Yilwatda applauded the Minister for what he described as the ongoing transformation in the nation’s infrastructure sector and assured him that the National Working Committee would soon invite him for a formal presentation of the administration’s achievements.
The APC Chairman noted that even before the official presentation, members of the committee and Nigerians had continued to witness the extensive infrastructure drive of President Tinubu through television reports, public feedback, and visible projects across the country.
Senator Umahi also reassured Nigerians that the Tinubu administration remains committed to addressing the nation’s challenges while sustaining critical infrastructure development nationwide.
Meanwhile, shortly after the meeting, the Minister proceeded to personally assess and address the developing situation at Eko Bridge.
