The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has congratulated the Olowo of Owo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye II, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing the revered monarch as a dependable partner in promoting peace, security and community development.
The IGP’s goodwill message was delivered on Sunday by the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Felix Ohagwu, at the monarch’s 60th birthday celebration held in Owo, Ondo State.
Representing the Inspector-General of Police, CP Ohagwu conveyed the IGP’s warm felicitations and best wishes to the Olowo of Owo, while commending the monarch for his unwavering commitment to fostering peace and strengthening collaboration between traditional institutions and the Nigeria Police Force.
The police chief noted that the monarch has continued to play a significant role in supporting efforts to combat crime and criminality in Owo and its environs through sustained community engagement and effective partnership with security agencies.
“The Olowo of Owo has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment to promoting peace, security and community engagement. His collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force has contributed immensely to efforts aimed at combating crime and maintaining public safety within Owo and neighbouring communities,” the IGP stated through his representative.
The Nigeria Police Force congratulated His Imperial Majesty on attaining the milestone age of 60 and prayed for continued good health, divine wisdom and a peaceful, prosperous reign as the traditional ruler of the ancient Owo Kingdom.
