Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has congratulated Nigerian basketball star E.J. Anosike on his emergence as the Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2026 National Basketball League (China) season, describing his feat as a historic milestone.
According to an official signed statement by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit at NiDCOM, Dabiri-Erewa noted that Anosike has become the first player in the history of the league to secure all major individual and team accolades. These include the 2026 NBL Championship, Finals MVP (2026), Regular Season Scoring Leader (2024), Best International Player (2025), as well as multiple All-Star recognitions and the 2026 All-Star Slam Dunk title.
Dabiri-Erewa commended the athlete’s consistency, discipline, and exceptional performance, stating that his achievements reflect the resilience and excellence Nigerians continue to exhibit on the global stage.
She was quoted as saying that Anosike’s journey stands as a testament to hard work, focus, and determination, adding that his record-breaking accomplishments have not only brought pride to Nigeria but have also set a new benchmark for excellence in international basketball.
