President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu as the new Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency for an initial term of four years, effective April 16, 2026.
According to an official signed statement by Chris Ugwuegbulam, Head of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the appointment is in line with the provisions of Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, 2015.
The statement described Dr. Zuntu as a seasoned public health professional and policy strategist with a proven track record in driving impactful national programmes.
President Tinubu has tasked the new appointee to deploy her expertise toward strengthening the agency’s mandate and advancing national development.
