The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed that former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is currently in its custody in connection with an ongoing investigation.

In an official signed statement, Head of Media and Public Communications/Spokesperson of the Commission, J. Okor Odey, disclosed that Malam Nasiru El-Rufai was in the custody of the Commission as at the close of work on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

The Commission stated that the former governor is being held in connection with investigations, without providing further details on the nature of the case.

The ICPC reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out its mandate in accordance with the law.
