The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course will commence on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, across all the 37 NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide, marking the formal beginning of another cycle in the Scheme’s mandate of national service, unity and youth development.

In an official statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs Caroline Embu, the Scheme disclosed that camp registration for all Prospective Corps Members would begin on Wednesday, January 21, and run until midnight on Friday, January 23, 2026. According to the statement, all Corps Members are expected to complete their documentation within this window to enable smooth processing and participation in the three-week orientation programme.

Mrs Embu further stated that the Swearing-in Ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Corps Members has been scheduled to hold on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the various orientation camps across the country. The ceremony will formally induct the Corps Members into the NYSC, following which they will fully participate in the regimented orientation activities designed to instil discipline, patriotism and leadership skills.

The statement added that the Orientation Course will officially come to an end with the Closing Ceremony slated for Tuesday, February 10, 2026, after which Corps Members will proceed to their places of primary assignment in line with NYSC postings.

While wishing all Prospective Corps Members a hitch-free journey to their respective states of deployment, the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, urged them to prioritise their safety at all times. He specifically advised Corps Members against embarking on night journeys while travelling, stressing that personal safety remains a critical concern of the Scheme.

The NYSC reiterated its commitment to ensuring a well-coordinated orientation exercise and enjoined all Prospective Corps Members to comply strictly with laid-down guidelines throughout the programme.
