The Nigerian Army has announced that successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) 29/2026 Selection Board are to report for officer cadet training at the Officer Cadet Training Wing of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry in Jaji on Friday, March 27, 2026.

In a public announcement issued by the Army authorities, the list of successful candidates has been made available online on the official recruitment portal of the Nigerian Army.

According to the announcement, candidates are expected to report to the training facility with essential items required for the commencement of their officer cadet programme. These include writing materials and original copies of their credentials, including online printouts displaying their passport photographs.

The candidates are also required to come along with three pairs of plain white short-sleeve unmarked round-neck vests and royal-blue shorts without stripes, as well as two pairs of pure white canvas or trainers, noting that rubber-type footwear will not be accepted. Additionally, they are to bring two pairs each of maroon-red unmarked round-neck vests and navy-blue tracksuits without stripes.

Other items listed for the training include two white and one blue long-sleeve shirts, a black tie, a black belt, four pairs of white socks and two pairs of black socks, as well as two pairs of black and white trousers. Candidates are also expected to bring a dark-coloured lounge suit, two pairs of national dress or suits and casual wear, a rubber-strapped wristwatch, one pair of black cover shoes, a swimming trunk, two white bed sheets with pillowcases, a grey or army-green blanket, football boots and a pressing iron.

Female candidates are required to report with additional items including one pair of black low-heel cover shoes, four dark-coloured lounge skirts, four pairs of tight black or blue shorts, and two pairs of trouser suits.

The Army further stated that serving military personnel who were successful in the selection process must report with official release letters and passes from their commanders or commanding officers.

The announcement emphasized that successful candidates who fail to report on the stipulated date will automatically forfeit their vacancies, which will subsequently be offered to candidates on the reserve list.

Reserve candidates were advised not to report to the training location but will be contacted if vacancies arise. The Army also noted that there will be no vacancy for reserve candidates after April 20, 2026.
