President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the appointment of three new heads of federal agencies, in a move aimed at strengthening critical institutions and driving national development.

In a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, the President confirmed the appointment of Bello Bawa Bwari from Niger State as the new Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency. His appointment is for an initial term of four years, effective September 18, 2025, in line with the provisions of Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, 2015.

Similarly, Hon. Barrister Aminu Junaidu from Zamfara State has been appointed as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Securities Tribunal for a five-year term, also effective from September 18, 2025.

The statement further announced that Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan has been named the new Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC). His four-year term commenced on September 2, 2025.

The Presidency emphasized that these appointments reflect President Tinubu’s determination to reposition strategic sectors and strengthen institutional frameworks. The President urged the newly appointed officials to bring their expertise and dedication to bear in advancing the mandates of their respective agencies, noting that their contributions would play a vital role in Nigeria’s overall progress.
